It's always nice to see an article on the importance that design plays in an ad's attention getting factor, it's readability and it's overall success.  So even though I didn't write this, I'm passing it along.  This describes how we look at all projects whether they are an ad, a mailer, an email or a package.

We are asked frequently, "How do I get a UPC Barcode?."  The answer to that is something my parents always said - ..."It depends."  Well, in your case it depends on where you are going to sell your product and how many products do you plan on having.  Here's an article from the Wall Street Journal that explains it pretty well:

Caution: Is Groupon Right For Your Business?

Along with Groupon, the hugely successful social coupon buying site, many similar companies are sprouting up and offering the same concept with local offices in your marketplace, such as Living Social and Social Buy. Even Google introduced its own program called Google Offers.

I saw this today! It cut through the clutter of pet food and caught my eye.  Isn't that what packaging should do? For anyone that's opened as many cat food cans as I have ... this is different. These bright green and blue cans are great.  It looks like anodized tin. Anyone know for sure?

This packaging design project found us making a better presentation out of multiple items that made up a weight loss product.  The objective was to give value to this high priced plan. Not just have a box of 'stuff' arrive on your doorstep after sign up.  But to get an organized package of items that get you started on your way to slimming. Product packing placement and shipping survivability were also factors to consider.
