Building Strong Brands For Snack Food Products

Posted by

Find me on:

Here are two Snack Food products that needed a unifying brand look to help them cross over to retail ready products.  We were brought on to create that look across packaging, point of purchase, website and even tradeshow display.

Dave's Sweet Tooth Toffee

What can you say about firefighters?  They’ll be there no matter what?  They get the job done when you need them?  They sometimes appear on calendars?

Well, this product was born in the firefighters world.

It's a fantastic, home made toffee product that has been tested in the fire halls of Michigan.  After a family recipe starting making the rounds of the fire halls and the orders started to pile up.  The candy maker’s son of this company decided he could make a business out of this.  AND he has!  Dave’s Sweet Tooth Toffee was born in the Mason Jars of Michigan.

Retail store floor display and laptop screen.Soon this ‘can’t get enough of it candy’ needed to have a better brand wrapped around it so the product matched the POP, matched the website and ALL showed the fun side of this finger licking snack.

Jars of each flavor of candy The fun and care that the CEO, and self titled, 'Benevolent Oompah Loompah Overlord' puts into his product is evident and he wanted that fun to come through on his branding as well.

Mascot Snack Company

They like their food!

A group of candy packaging showing different flavors and styles. This product comes from the firefighters world. Its a fantastic toffee product that has been tested in the fire halls of Michigan. The many pieces that go into making toffee are evident along with the bright colors, etc.

Tradeshow display and a retail floor display containing candy products.Mascot Pecan Shelling has a long family history and is one of the nation's largest providers of shelled pecans. They have more to offer than pecans. Mascot creates and produces a wide variety of hand crafted chocolate and nut treats.

Well known in Georgia, they came to Catalpha for branding and packaging to move into retail in a big way. This pecan candy company wanted their product to rival other leading retail brands. That meant solidifying the brand at the top of every package and every flavor. With quite an array of products to bring together it had to be simple and tell the story of their origins as a roadside nut company that started in the 40s.

With the breadth of offerings, we created a strategy that boldly stated the brand, anchored with the historic photo of the original store and visually cues the unique package offering through color pallet. Their products add new offerings to grocery and department stores where they only had chips, freeze dried nuts and bark. Mascot brings to the market a variety of snack bags including chocolate covered pecans, mint penguins, peanut crunch bars, sea salt caramels and more. Not your average treats.

If you have multiple products you want them to present as a family instead of one-off products, let us take a look.
