The Interactive Advertising Bureau, IAB, had recently released their internet advertising report for the first half of 2014. It has shown that internet advertising revenues have immensely increased from 2013 to 2014.
Internet advertising revenues have hit a new milestone high of $23.1 billion for the first 6 months of 2014, and are expected to reach $49 billion by the end of the year!
Social media platform spending has increased a whopping 58% over last year, bringing in about 2.9 billion, mobile has shown a 76% increase over last year, bringing in over 5.3 billion. But the important thing here is that search engine optimization, going up by 4%, brought in 9.1 billion this year! The MOST out of any of the platforms and it is still growing. It is now 39% of TOTAL online advertising revenue which is the largest percent of internet ad revenues.
Businesses need to make SEO a part of their marketing budget. Many small businesses are now beginning to put a large amount of their budget in search because it typically gets the best return on investment.
Search has proved to increase traffic on sites and it gives more opportunities to find ways to reach the client’s audience, bring about brand awareness, helps to explore new markets, optimal reach for conversion, bypass competition, etc. The rewards are great and it has become an important factor in online advertising and it's not going away.
